When elected, I have 3 primary focal points: crime, education, and faith.
Empower Law Enforcement, Tough On Crime
Expanding on this point: I want to strengthen policies on crime. It is no secret - in fact it is painfully clear - that crime is rampant in our State. While I am only one man, I want to work with all legislators to protect our communities and economy from the criminals who, to date, seem to have been given more leeway than the righteous. Being a police officer, I have worked numerous incidents of property crime, financial crime, and crimes against persons only to see the suspect be given a Notice to Appear and they never show up. I have personally experienced the stranglehold that policies like the SAFE-T Act have had on small to large police departments. I want to bring back common sense policies that appropriately punish criminals, as well as advocate for measures that negate the potential incentives that drive crime. I want to empower law enforcement by ensuring they have access to the trainings that will help make them the best professionals they can be, and I want work to fix the recruitment and retention problem that plagues law enforcement in Illinois and across the nation.
Focusing On Improved Outcomes in Education
On education and as a father of of a child with Autism, I know the struggles parents face when trying to advocate for the best for their children. That is why I am a strong advocate for parental choice. We have seen the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic mandates on students, as well as when too much power is afforded to those who are not the boots on the ground. The Government is the VERY LAST entity that should be responsible for choosing what is best for your child. Parents should be telling school boards where their authority ends in the classroom. School districts, their credibility, and their state funding should never be held hostage by a politician with a pen. Our teachers need to be more valued assets to our school community and we need to incentivize the desire to be an educator.
Restoring Faith in Illinois
On faith, I do not mean based in religion. What I mean is that the people of Illinois have lost faith in this state. That is abundantly clear in the amount of residents lost to neighboring states. I want to bring the faith in Illinois back! Illinois is a beautiful state with so much potential. I have traveled this state throughout my life and there are several areas I'd love to call home if I could not be where I am currently. We need to show quality American businesses that Illinois one of the best places to do business. Through programs like TIF we can build up blighted areas, bring local jobs, and expand tax bases so areas are less reliant on property taxes, or can all together lower property taxes. By improving on the my previous topic areas, people will be more inclined to stay or move into Illinois. Furthermore, I seek to restore faith in Illinois Government by being an example of a man of the people. I seek to restore faith in the ideal set forth by Abraham Lincoln, "Government of the people, by the people, for the people."
